Let’s focus on your breathing. In a moment, you’ll be taking slow, deep breaths. As you inhale, your abdomen will naturally expand like a balloon as it fills with air. As you exhale and release the air, your abdomen will relax again. As you breathe out, you’ll discover that you can let the tension and the fatigue flow out of your body. Remember to breathe slowly and deeply. With every slow, deep breath, you will become more and more relaxed.
Let’s begin. Take a nice, slow, easy, deep breath in, (breath) hold it for a few seconds. While exhaling slowly, say to yourself the word “release.” Again, breathe in easily and deeply. (breath) One, two, three. Now exhale slowly, saying the word, “release.” As you exhale, feel the tension leave your body. Again, take a slow, easy, deep breath. (breath) One, two, three. Now exhale slowly, saying the word, “release.” Let your arms and shoulders sag. Again, take a slow, easy, deep breath. (breath) One, two, three. Exhale slowly. And “Release.” You're beginning to relax. Enjoy the feeling of relaxation. Let go. Once more, breathe in. (breath) One, two, three. And “Release.” Allow yourself to sink deeper and deeper into the comfortable feeling of relaxation. Just let go and relax. Breathe in, one two three. Release.
Breathe in deeply. One, two, three. Feel your stomach rise. “Release.” Deeper relaxation is a pleasant feeling. Let yourself enjoy it. Breathe slowly and comfortably. Feel your chest and abdomen fill with fresh air. Breathe in. One, two, three. And gently release. Every time you exhale, you are becoming more deeply relaxed. Breathe in. One, two, three. And “Release.”
