In order for your mind to relax, you need to relax your body first. Get into a comfortable position and settle in. Begin your relaxation experience with some easy stretching. Stretch out your arms and legs. Really stretch. As you let go of that stretch, focus on the sensation of letting go. Stretch out your arms and your legs again. As you let go of that stretch, feel your body release. Now, move your head gently, without straining, to the left and roll gently back to the right. Now the other direction, move your head from the right and roll it gently around to the left. And relax. Stretch your whole body once more from the tips of your fingers down to the ends of your toes. Allow yourself to ease into the warmth of this last stretch and settle into a comfortable position. As you settle in, focus on my voice and the here and now. Let go of everything else. This is your time to focus on total relaxation.
