Focus on your breathing and the sound of my voice. Let everything else drift away. Nothing else matters right now. It doesn't matter whether your eyes are opened or closed for this exercise. And you can close your eyes at any time if you wish or continue to enjoy the beauty of the undersea ocean shown on the screen.
As you listen to my words, you’ll become aware of the sensation of deep relaxation and you’ll develop a closer connection to your inner calm. Afterward, you’ll feel invigorated and refreshed. But for now, just focus on my words and your own natural breathing.
Simply experience your own perceptions and feelings. Just enjoy whatever happens as you relax. Your unconscious mind will take you wherever it wants to go. That’s what is right for you right now. It doesn't matter how deeply you go or how quickly you ease into relaxation. It’ll happen in the way that's right for you because this is exactly what needs to happen for you now. As you focus your attention on your breathing, my voice will go with you. You don’t have to make any effort at all. Simply go with it. Focus inward on yourself. Focus on your gentle breathing. Your calmness. Allow yourself to become more and more absorbed in the life and energy of your own body.
And you are in control and you have the experience of being able to tap into your inner voice and become relaxed whenever you need to. And now you have the easy techniques of being able to become calm and relaxed and can integrate those techniques into your experience only when you decide it is appropriate and right. This is a wonderful resource that you can now tap into any time you want.
And now, imagine yourself in a stressful situation that in the past would have triggered emotional signals in you. Imagine yourself at the point where you’re having to deal with that stress. Now, see yourself using the techniques you now have of listening to your body and unconscious mind as they help lead you to a calm and relaxed state of being. See that image of yourself successfully becoming relaxed and peaceful where your image is calmly and successfully dealing with the stressful situation.
And now, float into that image of yourself and inhabit the image of you being successful, calm, at ease, and relaxed. Inhabit that image and experience the sensation of being calm, relaxed, and perfectly at ease. It’s a peaceful and happy sensation that you have created yourself. And the more often you achieve this sensation, the easier it will be for you to create it again and again. You’ll get used to thinking of yourself in this way because you’ll now allow it to happen and it is becoming natural for you. And just enjoy the sensation. So calm and comfortable. And you can now trust your body and your unconscious mind to help you be happy and successful. You are relaxed and ready for any situation in the day that may arise. You can now return to the real world feeling fresh and at peace.
